Just a peek….

Today was the most perfect day for an engagement session.  NO wind!  How often do we get have that in Kansas??  Loved it!!!  And it gets even better- even though our temperatures are soaring the sun wasn’t to be seen!!  Overcast!!!  No wind and overcast makes for wonderful outdoors sessions.  Think of it…we may have a little squinting because it is still may be a little bright out BUT no squinting from the sun and no shadows to deal with!!!  AND no wind blown hair!!! LOVE, LOVE it!!!  Anyway, here you go- a peek at Sara and Charles- who had the benefit of this perfect summer day for their engagement session…

Do you Twitter??

Ok, I am starting to get with the times!! First Facebook and now Twitter! I have wondered myself what exactly everyone was talking about. What was this thing called “Twitter” and what was the point? With Twitter gaining attention in the news, and being mentioned on television shows, I figured it was time to bring it here to my blog.  I’m sure many of you will read this and think, “Huh? What in the heck is she talking about?”, but I know some of you will create an account and be sucked into the madness in no time!  You can thank me later.

According to Wikipedia, “Twitter is a social networking and micro-blogging service that allows its users to send and read other users’ updates (otherwise known as tweets), which are text-based posts of up to 140 characters in length.”
So, in plain English, you post what you are doing, what you are thinking, what you are planning…whatever you want to post…in 140 characters or less.  Those posts (tweets) are shared with the people that “follow” you.  They can keep up with what you have to say, and even reply to you (in 140 characters or less, of course!).  And you can follow people all over the world to see what they are tweeting about.

So, what IS the point?  Well, I guess it’s different for everyone.  Some people share about their personal lives, some use it as a networking tool for work, the media uses it to post news and connect with their readers/viewers, and businesses may use it to reach their clients or potential clients.  For me, I like connecting with other photographers around the world, and I want to follow all the great clients I have!  It’s also great to stay in touch with friends that live far away – then we can feel like we are still a part of each other’s daily lives.

You can update your Twitter feed on the web, or through one of the many available applications (most of them are free!).  You can also update through your cell phone (with some great applications for Blackberry and iPhone users).

The Twitter website has Help Resources for Getting Started and How-To Information.

And of course, follow me by clicking here!  – I’ll follow you back!
Do you Twitter?  Post your username in the comments!  Do you have other tweeps you love to follow?  Share those in the comments with us, too!  And if you have any questions about Twitter, just post those, to and we can try and help you out!

I still want to get my Twitter page all spruced up but hey at least it is up-one more thing to mark off of my list. ;)

Christmas Mini Sessions…

Just a reminder that we will be having our Christmas Mini Sessions on Friday, December 5th from 10-5ish.  I won’t leave earlier but I will stay later if I need to.  No appointments necessary.  No session fee.  Specially priced prints with a discount code!  This will be on all white with minimal Christmas props and only if you want them.  I just got an adorable little red step stool that will work great for toddlers.  I have some Christmas ornaments but basically we will be using a pretty simple set up to showcase your little one.  I think it would be super cute to have little ones newborn to about 8 months- nakee with just a Santa hat or for little girls a big red bow (yes I have both). :)   You can also dress your little ones in their Christmas jammies.  REALLY cute too.  And for those of you that want more traditional-yes they can come in their Christmas outfit.  Here a couple shares of a Christmas Cutie!!!
