New Hours and a SNEAK PEEK for Miss V!

New hours beginning August 1st…

Closed Mondays.

Tuesday through Friday from 10:00am until 5:00pm.

Saturdays available by appointment.

Evenings available by appointment.

Keep in mind that from now until later fall, I may be out of the studio photographing seniors for shorter periods of time. I apologize for any inconvenience.

I may also pop out for a quick bite to eat at some point through the lunch hour since we are opening at 10:00am.

Thanks for your patience and understanding. I am continuing to attempt to “do it all” myself. Even though I have been so fortunate to be as busy as I am, at this point I still don’t feel that I can or want to add to the “staff” for someone to man the studio when I am out on a session. Bear with me and we will see how the new hours work. I appreciate your support.

Now a little share of Miss Vickie…another GORGEOUS senior ‘09!

A couple of Story Boards to share…

First off I wanted to say that I think that we have recovered from the move. I am still looking for a couple of things for the studio but haven’t found exactly what I am looking for yet. I want a couple of chairs for the front. I also need a changing table if anyone has one out there that is gathering some dust. Call me. I will trade pics or $$.

Big thanks to Paulette Soupiset. She traded me a Bumbo seat for little ones that aren’t able to sit yet. I am so excited to try it out. :)

Even though we are mostly recovered from the move, sessions have gotten to a point that it is almost impossible for me to get proofs up in a week, return phone calls, answer emails, create story boards & announcements, notify clients that there orders are in…

So a few revisions…

Proofs are taking minimum of 10 days to 2 weeks at the longest right now. If you are in the need for “rush” service-please let me know and I will do my best to accommodate. If you have not received a link to your proof gallery in 2 weeks, please call me. Is should not be any longer than that at all.

Print orders are taking a week to ten days. I have tried to call in the past to let you know orders are in but I am going to ask you to please plan on picking your order up in that time frame. If it has been 10 days since you placed your order-it is likely here and ready for you.

It is Senior Season…therefore I will be in and out of the studio photographing. This week I have had 2 seniors and I have THREE MORE seniors-yep, this week. I apologize for any inconvenience. If you need to pick up an order please give me a call and I am sure we can work it out. I don’t want you to make an unnecessary trip. Studio phone is 792-5300 and cell phone is 617-3434.

The next 2 weeks are booked so if you have a senior that needs a session or you need to book another session please keep in mind that it is taking 2 to 3 weeks to get in.

Story boards are taking me a week or so to create. I will email you a proof prior to ordering. If you haven’t gotten a proof in 10 days-shoot me an email, just a little nudge ;) .

I worked a couple of story boards up for the family of Miss Kamryn. Isn’t she a doll. Eventually there will be samples such as this one on the main site to give you some ideas. I just can’t seem to find enough time to get everything done. I am working on it…

Now on to share the story boards, a 5×7…

And a 5×10…these come mounted and sprayed for protection. No frame needed perfect to display on an easel. AND perfect when gram just can’t decide which image she loves the most!!

Just a few sneak peeks from this last week…

I guess it HAS been awhile. Yesterday my dear friend Rhonda informed me that I needed to post on the blog. Thanks for the reminder Rhonda. Each day I feel like I am getting closer to being caught up. :) That is a good thing! Proofs are now caught up and falling back into the “about a week” category. That does not mean that everyone is posted-I wish! I have about 4 or 5 clients waiting for proofs. We should make the week though give or take a day or two. Orders are caught up-kind of. I printed orders again yesterday and now this morning I will be placing those orders with the lab. My last 4 brides have all of their prints ordered. Working on the slide shows and coffee table books now. I have several collages to put together for clients…

What else?? Did I say that I LOVE my job? I feel so blessed to be so busy and so lucky to be able to do what I love! THANK YOU!!

What else…even though we were SICK of painting from Forest Street, I did manage to twist “somebody’s” arm and we painted the entrance way a yummy pale aqua! It looks GREAT! Pictures have been hung just about every where. We need to finish the partition and hang the backdrop holders. I also WANT to paint my office now…trying to talk Jennifer into it. If you haven’t met Jennifer, she is my little helper and my daughters best friend. She “hangs out” with me pretty regularly and I put her to work!

Have we been busy? YES! And it is GREAT!

Are there still things to do?? YES! But we are getting there. It just seems to be taking forever.

Starting tomorrow I have my first senior of the season. Yep, it is that time. Miss Shelby…I am just a little partial to her…she is my niece, a senior this year at Hoisington High. Next week a different senior about every day. Now through fall is a great time to schedule if you have a senior. I will share more about our senior sessions when I post some sneak peeks of Miss Shelby….

Now on to a few of the sessions I have had from the last week…

Miss Delaney…Isn’t she gorgeous? She is SIX!!! We did a sort of Urban/ Senior Session. Some alley shots and some studio shots too. I think that this is a great idea for kindergarten kiddos. You know it often happens that once kids enter the school years, school pictures and snap shots are about all that seems to get taken. Not knocking them at all but how cool will it be when Miss Delaney is a senior and her momma can pull out these shots for the high school yearbook and to share for comparison at her graduation party? This is something that I really want to put out there as an option for clients. Here at Jack & Jill we have a Baby’s First Year to document all of those dramatic changes that take place during your child’s first year. I really want to encourage you to document other milestones as well…entering school for example. This is a perfect milestone to document. Eighth Grade graduation is another. This last spring I did a little cutie patootie as she finishes eighth grade and prepares for high school! A senior session too of sorts. Her momma and I both think that it will be awesome to compare these shots to her senior pictures. She only wishes that they had done something similar prior to starting school so that they could compare the three…starting kindergarten, starting high school and finishing high school. Very cool concept. Very soon I will announce some packages for just those milestones.

On with the show…

Miss Delaney

The Steffan Kiddo’s…

And last but not least a handsome little guy. Would you look at those killer eyes???
