Reminder…

Gosh it has been crazy busy! This is my last week at the jail and while there are certain aspects of my PT job there that I will miss- boy am I ready. I just CAN’T keep up with both the jail and the studio anymore. I am so looking forward to next week. Promise…the blog will get a little more attention beginning next week…Thanks for bearing with me. Last November when I was approached about the position at the jail for a part time nurse my entire family told me that I didn’t have the time to do it. I wasn’t weven in the market for an additional job. I hadn’t done ANY nursing for just about the entire year of 2007 and I was just barely keeping up with the studio-my real passion as it was. BUT against everyone’s advice I had to give it a try and started as the facility nurse the later part of last December. Now almost a year later-can you believe it?-it is time to admit that my family and friends were right- I just don’t have the time. Thanks to all of you for your patience throughout this past year while I gave it my best shot. Beginning Monday, Jack & Jill will have my full time attention once again!

So in celebration, next week I will announce a VERY SPECIAL sale…watch for the post! It will be time sensitive and you WON’T want to miss out!

Another announcement…very soon to return by popular demand…

our old shopping cart system! NEW and IMPROVED-with a few updates ;)

So many of you have contacted me in support of our old shopping cart system. It is time to bring it back.

We have been using our present cart system for about 6 months now and while some like it, some find it a little confusing. When I discovered that some awesome upgrades were being made to our old cart system that will make it SO much easier and better for all of us I knew that we had to go back. Look for it very soon.

Just a little reminder. I will be open on Halloween (which is THIS FRIDAY) from 1-6pm for a quick come and go. Special little packages and our ANNUAL blog “Too Cute to Spook” contest.

Also…there are some spots remaining for our Family Mini Sessions set for the weekend of November 8th and 9th. Originally we were going to use a black backdrop. The black will still be available but you will also have a choice of using a very neutral creme backdrop. ;) Between the two I am certain one will fit for your family!

Later,
Pam

Busy, busy…

It seems that there just isn’t enough time in the day. Really! I did accomplish quite a bit this week. I got a new computer at the studio. A Gateway with a 24″ screen! I love it!!! It was time to upgrade and I know that online ordering isn’t for everyone. Clients are more than welcome to make an appointment to come in to finalize their order. By doing this you will be able to view your proofs practically life like on this amazing screen. If you are undecided we can compare images and if you would like to see some special effects we can play! Be sure to make an appointment though-for your benefit as well as mine…I want to be able to give you my full attention.

Three gorgeous new backdrops arrived yesterday and I will get the chance to play this next week. All are very neutral just the way I like it. :) A beautiful creme, a very classic gray and a gorgeous brown that is just yummy. I will post some images soon.

Oh yea! I finally got a pair of chocolate brown chairs for the front waiting area! I love them! We still need a little something up there (maybe a rug?!?) but it is coming along.

This week I have had the pleasure of meeting so many new clients. Brand new babies, seniors, several maternity sessions and some boudoir. I really do appreciate the opportunity to work with all of my clients. Downloading each and every image is like Christmas to me! I love seeing what I got and I LOVE sharing these special times with each and every one of you! Proofs are taking ABOUT 1-2 weeks at this time and remember design of custom items adds a little time to the delivery of your completed order. Any time that you order a custom item-whether it be a card or Story Board a proof will be emailed to you for approval prior to printing.

Still appointments remaining for the Family Weekend November 8th and 9th. Simple black background. Call soon! It will be here before you know it! Christmas is just around the corner. And these images will make awesome Holiday cards. ;)

At this point I am considering a Christmas Themed Set for small groups-less than 4. Something clean and simple…I thought maybe the new creme muslin. Children could wear some of the richer holiday colors-burgundy, hunter or even creme. Creme on creme would be beautiful. Very simple props if any…ornaments in creme? Any interest? Leave me a comment!

MIA!

I have totally been missing!  I have been so crazy busy since returning from our little get away that the blog has entirely been neglected! Just a few little reminders…

Halloween!!!  Our annual “Too Cute to Spook” will be held on Halloween, October 31st from 1:00pm-6:00pm.  This is a casual come and go in costume.  I will have treats for the kiddos.  All images will be entered into the blog contest.  Mark it on your calendar now. :)

Family Weekend…November 8th and 9th

NOW is the time to call and book.

This is a Saturday and a Sunday.  No session fee!  Discounted Collections and Ala Carte!  Appointments will be in 15 minute increments.  You will have 6-10 online images to choose from.  A simple casual come and go!  Just how Dad likes it!!  These images will be perfect for Christmas cards and gifts!  We will be using a solid black background.  I am highly recommending that clients choose warmer dark colors.  Neutrals will work the best.  Avoid white and bright colors for the best look.  Remember to have the absolute best portraits we don’t have to be “matchy-matchy” but “mix and match” if you will.  Bear with me and try and think of it this way…if could you put EVERYONE’S clothing pieces together ON A SINGLE body-would it work??  If you cannot imagine wearing Suzee’s dress with Johnny’s shirt (think patterns and colors here) then they most likely won’t look the best on a portrait.  If you ever have any questions regarding wardrobe selections don’t hesitate to give me a call.  I will be more than happy to brainstorm some clothing options for you.  Remember too that simple is best.  Avoid busy patterns, logos and text on shirts.

Changes, changes changes…I put in my resignation at the Barton County Detention Center AKA jail.  Beginning November 1st all of my time and energy will be devoted to Jack & Jill.  I am really excited.  I have had so many things that I have wanted to do with the studio but no time to follow through with them.  Now I will be able to have the time to follow through.  I am very anxious to get started. :)

Don’t want to overwhelm…

until next time…

Pam :)
